Our history is one built on ambition and growth – Team Members who went from a Day 1 rookie all the way to running an entire store or department. Wherever you start, there’s always a path forward.
Your Path In Our Stores
When our first store opened in 1980, we believed this -- if you wanted to move up, you could. We still practice that today. Every one of our stores has a path for you to grow – from Team Member all the way to leading an entire store.
Team Members are the lifeblood of Whole Foods Market. You make the store run. You’re the person our customers build relationships with. You’re what makes Whole Foods Market unique to your community. From stocking shelves or preparing food to checking customers out or cutting meat, you’re what makes our stores memorable.
Associate Team Leader
Our stores are separated into nine different departments full of talented Team Members. As an Associate Team Leader, you help make those Team Members’ lives easier. You’ll lead and develop their careers, as well as have a rock-solid plan to keep your department running smoothly.
You’re the leader of your department. You’re a person that can wear many hats. Some days you’re buying products and determining profits. The next you’re training a Team Member to further their career. At the end of the day, your department is a reflection of your work. And that’s something to be proud of.
Associate Store Team Leader
You’re the right-hand to the Store Team Leader. You help lead all aspects of store operations. From hiring and mentoring to merchandising and logistics, you know how all the pieces fit together. You have the answer for everything, and Team Members feel confident turning to you day-in and day-out.
Store Team Lead
You’re the head of your entire store. You set the tone through how you lead, how you plan and how you work. Leading a large team excites you as much as seeing the smiles of customers as they leave your store. At the end of the day, you’re driven by bettering your community and the lives of your Team Members through your work.
Here, your career is what makes you happy. If happiness is moving up to management, you can. If happiness is moving to different departments, or even switching your entire career focus, you can. The path at corporate is diverse, and we give you the training and support to get you where you want to be.
