People Operations Business Partner, Food Plant
Job Description
The People Ops Business Partner supports Facility Leadership in enhancing the facility’s operational efficiency by supporting various Team Member Services (HR) and facility training functions, promoting Team Member engagement, and ensuring compliance with US Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations and company policies within the metro food production facility.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for employees at all levels and coordinate training sessions, workshops, and continuous learning opportunities to promote skill development and career growth.
- Lead and organize team-building activities, facility events, recognition programs, and employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
- Manage Team Member-facing communication boards located throughout the facility.
- Oversee the facility visitor sign-in system and provide support to maintain required electronic recordkeeping.
- Partner with Facility Leadership and TMS to ensure compliance with USDA regulations; federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; and company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with TMS to provide guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement plans and career development strategies.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring and recruiting activities.
- Review TMS-related reports to inform decision-making and support strategic planning for the facility.
- In collaboration with subject matter experts, ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), USDA, State Department of Agriculture, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation regulations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Weights and Measures.
- Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with Store Support teams and Operational Areas supported by Facility Leadership.

Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in HR or People Operations, preferably in a food manufacturing or USDA-regulated environment.
- Basic understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and compliance requirements preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in select Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); and ability to learn custom applications.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize and lead events for 200+ Team Members.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including facility Team Members, Operating Area, and Store Support teams.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Must adhere to company dress code, standards of production kitchen dress, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- May require the use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $79,040.00 - $107,120.00 Annual, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits".
