Claims Analyst
Job Description
Are you a problem-solver who thrives on building relationships and managing complex situations?Whole Foods Market is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Claims Analyst to oversee our General Liability program in Austin, TX! In this role, you'll ensure compliance with state-specific liability laws and Whole Foods Market policies, while leveraging your expertise in General Liability claims management. You'll be the go-to person for any incident or injury that may lead to a General Liability claim, acting as the main point of contact for our team, customers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and internal partners. This is a dynamic, fast-paced position where your ability to build strong relationships and navigate complex processes will be key to your success.This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Be the main point of contact for general liability incidents—supporting stores, leadership, TPAs, and external partners from the moment something happens.
- Provide strategic oversight of TPA claims handling—review escalations, help with legal strategy, and ensure timely resolutions.
- Keep things compliant with state-specific laws and Whole Foods Market policies.
- Analyze claims data and trends, sharing insights with leadership and identifying ways to reduce future risk.
- Lead training sessions on GL best practices for teams across the business.
- Work closely with departments like Legal, Asset Protection, Food Safety, and Real Estate to address root causes and prevent repeat issues.
- De-escalate sensitive situations, communicating directly with customers to resolve issues thoughtfully and professionally.
- Help recover losses when third parties cause property damage to our stores.
- Support leadership training programs and assist with ongoing special projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of experience in claims, risk management, customer service, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills—you know how to keep people informed and projects on track.
- Comfort working with technology: Microsoft Office, risk management systems, and video playback tools.
- The ability to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
- Bonus points if you’ve worked with TPAs or have hands-on experience in the grocery, retail, or hospitality industries.
- Travel (less than 10%).
