Job Description
The Project Manager Store Design position is responsible for supporting store design for various types of projects. Manages and coordinates the design process from scope development to execution of project. This position resides in any Regional Office and will report directly to the Senior Team Leader, Design Project Management. Responsibilities:
- Supports design strategy and concepts for various types of projects, which may include remodels, roll outs and pipeline work.
- Responsible for project communication, schedule, scope, budget, and quality control.
- Partners with Construction and Equipment team members to ensure effective coordination on project scope.
- Implements and adheres to global directives on design.
- Ensures consistency and adherence to WFM standards, processes, and policies.
- Coordinates with Asset Protection, Store Technology, Merchandising Presentation teams, & Food Safety on their program/operational requirements for integration into store design.
- Partners with Food Safety on design impacts based on project location requirements or special codes.
- Provides documentation to communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Manages architect, vendor, and general contractor coordination to maintain project schedules, budgets, and brand identity.
- Coordinates plan reviews, participates in design review meetings, and provides mark-ups to architectural and engineering plans for design scope.
- Fosters positive and collaborative relationships with vendor partners while holding them accountable for deliverables.
- Coordinates onsite design changes with construction PM for approval and integration into fixture plans.
- Performs site visits of existing stores as needed for plan/ scope development on upcoming remodels.
- Ensures effective and timely communication with Store Development project team and consultants.
- Works on complex items of broad impact to the business.
Professional Knowledge:
- Understanding of Design project management methodologies and requirements.
- Ability to plan, estimate, organize, and monitor projects.
- Ability to work through project management issues and assist with overcoming barriers.
- Ability to keep multiple projects on track financially, creatively, and in accordance with stakeholder deadlines.
- Ability to identify need for process improvements, align and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
- Ability to work independently with limited day to day guidance.
- Advanced knowledge of Auto-Cad, Bluebeam, Sketch-up, Excel.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
- Communicates structured information in a clear, concise, and organized fashion.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in both one-on-one situations and group meetings.
- Collaborates with others to achieve objectives and ensure information flow.

- Participates in and provides support to team and cross-functional projects.
- Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
Organization & Industry Acumen:
- Understands customer, market, and industry trends and emerging challenges.
- Applies business and project understanding to focus project/ team efforts
- Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree and 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

- This position may require travel up to 25%.
