Our internship program is based in Austin, Texas, down the street from our original Whole Foods Market store. Our interns don’t get us coffee; instead, they enjoy free coffee and tea while working on meaningful projects that impact our internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role: 

Whole Foods Market is seeking an E-Commerce Catalog Intern to join our dynamic Catalog Operations team. In this role, you will support the growth of our digital catalogs by accurately and efficiently managing configurations, data inputs, and content updates, all in parallel with other key e-commerce functions to ensure seamless operations. Additionally, you will analyze customer behavior, business performance, and digital metrics to provide data-driven recommendations for optimizing our catalog and enhancing the overall customer experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in SQL, Excel for data analysis/manipulation, and an effective communicator. They have a passion for learning and are driven to improve e-commerce processes to enhance the customer experience.  

  

Intern Responsibilities May Include: 

  • Supports e-commerce execution for medium-scale programs, processes, and projects across Whole Foods Market’s digital channels and platforms. 

  • Partners with e-commerce, operations, merchandising, and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution across all digital properties.  

  • Analyzes operational metrics, interprets data, and recommends improvements for future processes and project execution.  

  • Creates detailed execution plans, including work-back schedules and task lists, and manages small to medium-scale written deliverables.  

  • Proposes, develops, and analyzes reports for auditing and quality assurance on medium-complexity initiatives.  

  • Ideates, plans, and drives catalog improvement projects, enhancing data accuracy, product visibility, and the customer experience. 

 

You Will Bring:  

  • A curiosity for e-commerce site merchandising, catalog management, item data, and digital products.  

  • Understanding of product data, data structures, and data management principles.  

  • Proficiency in SQL and in Excel for managing, transforming and analyzing large datasets, creating pivot tables, and using it for reporting, collaboration, and project tracking.  

  • Experience with digital measurement tools such as web analytics and dashboard platforms for tracking performance and insights.  

  • Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, estimating, organizing, and monitoring projects to ensure they meet financial and creative goals, as well as stakeholder deadlines.  

  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects and collaborating with diverse teams.  

  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, third-party vendors, and service providers.  

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and respond to questions. 

  • Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders. 

 

Education & Experience: 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed (within the past year) a bachelor's degree 

 

Internship Program Details: 

Our Summer 2025 Internships are paid for 10-weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) between June 2, 2025-August 8, 2025. The internships will be based in Austin, Texas and are not open to remote candidates at this time. 

 

Program Highlights:  

  • Weekly Summer Event Series: Weekly events for interns to connect with one another and get immersed in the Whole Foods Market culture. Previous events have included distribution center tours, cheese tastings, volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank, supplier visits, women in leadership panel and more! 

  • Intern Buddy: Opportunity to be paired with a Whole Foods Market team member outside of our team that can be a go to resource during your summer. 

  • Team Member Coffee Chats: Network 1:1 with Whole Foods Market team members in your field or area of interest for a 20 - 30-minute coffee chat. 

  • Internship Expo: End of internship presentations where you can share what projects you worked on during the summer with the entire company!
