We’re looking for a dedicated Food Safety Incident Management Analyst to be part of our mission to maintain the highest food safety and quality standards. If you’re a detail-oriented individual with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to food safety, we want to hear from you!In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of investigating and resolving product quality and food safety incidents involving everything from branded products to our private label products, prepared foods, and fresh items. You’ll collaborate with a variety of internal and external partners, including our Private Label team, suppliers, distributors, and regional teams, ensuring swift and effective resolutions. Your efforts will help keep our customers safe and ensure that Whole Foods Market continues to uphold its reputation as a leader in quality.This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Investigations: Take the lead in investigating product quality and food safety issues and complaints, ensuring quick resolution and customer safety.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Supplier QA Analysts, Category Management, and other stakeholders to develop solutions to food safety incidents.
  • Monitor and Report: Track corrective action plans, monitor their progress, and ensure timely, accurate investigative reports are provided.
  • Drive Product Safety: Work with our supply chain partners to gather and analyze data, initiate necessary product testing, and identify trends to pinpoint root causes of incidents.
  • Support Recalls & Withdrawals: Provide critical support in the management and communication of product recalls and withdrawals, ensuring clear communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion Compliance: Help ensure our teams are equipped to respond to regulatory inquiries and uphold food safety standards at all times.
  • Enhance Systems: Acts as a liaison for Supplier Quality Assurance in the implementation of the enhanced global recall and incident management systems like FoodLogiQ.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to team-wide efforts aimed at improving functional processes.

What You Bring:

  • A BA/BS degree (preferably in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field) with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations (strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet and FoodLogiQ or similar product management tools (a plus!).
  • A strong command of Microsoft Office Professional (all application).
  • A sharp analytical mind capable of reviewing complex data, understanding regulatory requirements, and drawing insightful conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills—you’ll need to articulate findings clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Skilled in project management, including planning, organizing, and monitoring projects to meet goals, deadlines, and budget requirements—you’ll help keep projects on track and aligned with company goals.
