Principal Analyst - Customer Analytics

We are looking for a highly motivated Principal Analyst to join the Business, Customer, and Marketing Analytics Team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating Customer insights that contribute to partners across the company.
The Role:
This role will work with other analytics teams to lead strategic and analytics support for assigned and ad hoc requests. This position will be required to provide an integrated point of view of business, customer, and marketing performance, leveraging internal and external sources. In addition, this role will support the development of customer analytics and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and solve for any gaps in analytical processes and reporting.

Responsibilities:
Provide strategic guidance by delivering data-driven, actionable insights that contribute to leadership and key partner teams. Act as a conduit to integrate strategic insights, generate hypotheses; act as single-point-of-contact for technology team partners and data science teams. Understand and activate business impact levers (promotions, price, product, customer, etc.); along with leveraging 3rd party competitive landscape tools, customer behavior metrics, and data science models. Serve as an analytical point of contact for special projects, ad hoc analysis, and other initiatives.
Lead collaboration with business partners, including 3rd parties, to identify gaps in analytical processes and reporting; then problem solve with various other teams to fill gaps influence decision making throughout the business, which often requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Effectively synthesize and communicate complex data and analyses via effective written documents and presentations.

Ability to influentially present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interaction, meeting/group presentation situations involving senior leadership.

Proven ability to utilize advanced analytical methods to identify patterns, relationships, and trends across multiple data sources.
Synthesizes complex data from various sources to construct a narrative which can be understood by a broad audience. Passion for developing simple visualizations that lead to clear insights for various levels of stakeholder groups.
Experience querying data from large enterprise databases and developing new code to answer complex business questions.
Experience leveraging data science models to derive insights required.
Self-directed, innovative thinker with a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications:
Experience with working with market syndicated data (e.g. Nielsen, Numerator), shopper insights solutions, visual analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau) and Microsoft Excel, familiarity with data basics, structure, and relationships.
Project Management experience and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
Knowledge of retail business to include all aspects of pricing, merchandising, retail operations, financial operations, profitability drivers, and reporting is a strong plus.
Ability to travel on occasion.
Education & Experience:
BA/BS degree and 6-10 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Analytical Business Specialty, Marketing Research or commensurate retail experience preferred MS or MBA plus.
