Lead Senior Accountant
Job Description
Responsible for preparing income, balance sheet, consolidated and various other Accounting statements and reports. Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the Accounting of assets, liabilities and expenditures. Prepares, reviews and verifies accuracy of journal entries and Accounting classifications assigned to various records and account reconciliations. Determines and updates, as necessary, proper cost center requirements and rollup structures. Assists in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue in accordance with company policy and accepted Accounting practices. Advises leadership in terms of financial reporting, tracking and performance.Additional Information:•This role will observe a 5-day in-office model and be based in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance in partnership with leadership on the full range of entries and Accounting classifications assigned to various records and account reconciliations. Determines and updates, as necessary, proper cost center requirements and rollup structures. Assists in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue in accordance with company policy and accepted Accounting practices. Advises leadership in terms of financial reporting, tracking and performance.Accounting strategy definition, process development, and execution.
- Advises leadership on issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and underlying budget assumptions.
- Interprets and analyzes trends to develop non-standard reports and statements.
- Analyzes evolving business requirements impacting Accounting systems, structures, and associated fiscal procedures and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Leads projects of significant complexity and potentially wide-ranging organizational impact.
- Analyzes Accounting and Financial data to identify and address issues with potentially significant company and business impact.
- Risk assesses internal control systems and identifies / develops improvements and changes.
- Ensures team has access to and applies state-of-the art technologies, methods, and processes.
- Monitors functional activity and makes recommendations to leadership about load balancing, staffing levels, budget requirements, etc.
Skills:
- Expert knowledge of Accounting principles, policies and practices, including GAAP.
- Expert understanding of income statements, balance sheets, general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Able to identify and develop strategies to address underlying systemic issues within the Accounting and Financial management and reporting systems.
- Stays informed of technical and professional knowledge and new developments in Accounting / Finance.
- Provides function-wide process advice and insight.
- Engages with management to ensure priorities align with and support strategic business objectives.
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal communication skills and levels of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.

Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree and 6-8 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
