Production Supervisor, Bakehouse
Job Description
The Production Supervisor works closely with leadership to ensure smooth operation of production. Responsibilities include partnering with the Team Leader in leading, mentoring, and training a successful production team to create and maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency, inventory control, and complying with relevant regulations and standards.There are two openings, shift times below:Overnight shift: 8:00 am - 4:00 pmFloating shift: this shift will float with the business needs potentially starting at 4:00 am or as late as 4:00 pm. Must have open availability for this shift.
Responsibilities
- Supervise mentor and train new and existing team members. Ability to print formulas and batch sizes from Globalbake
- Communicate departmental concerns to appropriate leadership.
- Determine break schedule and ensure all necessary breaks are given.
- Direct work and activities on the line as needed.
- Manage the prep list daily, ensuring that team members are delegated tasks and then follow through with the team, marking off completed tasks.
- Maintain all HACCP, FSMA and SSOP procedures and standards. Also maintain good cleaning standards throughout the shift as well as Organic standards and procedures
- Produce consistently high quality products from scratch following Whole Foods Market guidelines and criteria.
- Oversee others while operating/working in different areas.
- Cultivate inter-departmental relationships.
- Establish and maintain a positive work environment that sustains high Team Member morale.
- Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Goals and Core Values.
- Follow, comply with, and enforce established procedures, including health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to direct and supervise efforts of a team
- Comprehensive product knowledge, strong culinary skills and ability to read and execute recipes
- Ability to maintain professional and appropriate conduct
- Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Ability to use stoves, ovens, scales and other machines related to production
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
- Effectively communicate with other Team Members and leadership
- Environmental exposure to the following: temperature extremes (walk-in cooler, freezer and oven), dairy, flour, gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and wheat via inhalant or food handling, cleaning or other commercial chemicals, cooking oils, grease, dust and other food and cooking related substances
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the store, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
