Job Description

Responsible for providing repairs and maintenance for WFM stores and facilities. Responsibilities include performing, facilitating, or contracting for repairs and maintenance, ensuring warranty application, ensuring and monitoring environment, health, and safety compliance, energy usage and efficiency, and other routine and ad-hoc functions. Organizes vendor and contractor site visits for routine maintenance and repairs.This role is based in our North Atlantic office located in Waltham, MA, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office, or in the field, five days a week

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership for new and existing store maintenance programs.
  • Facilitates inter-office communication between all Whole Foods Markets, departments, and outside contractors / equipment suppliers / consultants / landlords / governing authorities.
  • Motivates and coordinates organizations noted above toward common goals.
  • Develops, implements, controls, and monitors maintenance schedules, capital budgets, and ‘repair and maintenance’ budgets.
  • Administers contract documents, including bidding and invoicing.
  • Develops ‘repair and maintenance’ budgets.
  • Ensures quality workmanship in each WFM facility.
  • Completes punch list items and follow-up warranty items in timely fashion.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of store filtering, planning, operations, and merchandising.
  • Proficiency in computer estimating, scheduling, and database applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of facilities management, planning, and inspection processes and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of food store operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Access, web-based, and custom applications.
  • Comfortable with ongoing shifts in demands and priorities.
  • Clarifies and handles multiple concurrent and diverse activities.
  • Ability to work with or lead others to re-prioritize work and reschedule commitments as necessary.
  • Expert client service skills.
  • Advanced writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve objectives and ensure positive two-way information flow.
  • Demonstrates empathy and assertiveness when communicating needs and defending positions.

  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
