If so, the Whole Foods Market's Quality Assurance Team is looking for a Senior Product Safety and Quality Analyst to help shape the future of our unique Exclusive Brand product lines.Our goal is to deliver products that meet rigorous safety and regulatory standards while providing customers with value driven options that align with their health and wellness goals.As a Senior Product Safety and Quality Analyst, you'll contribute to our commercialization process, ensuring that every product meets our high standards. This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.This position will be posted through Monday April 14, 2025.
What You’ll Do:
- Technical Expertise: Develop appropriate chemical, microbiological, physical, and shelf-life test requirements for products based on supplier data, existing testing profiles, all applicable regulatory requirements, food safety or product safety risk, and all WFM-specific requirements.
- Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with product developers, our legal team, and suppliers to ensure that our products not only meet regulatory standards but also exceed customer expectations.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive quality initiatives, investigate non-conformances, and implement corrective actions to maintain product consistency and safety.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a mentor to junior analysts, sharing your expertise and guiding them in their roles.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (a graduate degree is a plus).
- 4-6 years of experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG), including hands-on experience at manufacturing sites.
- Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Certification required.
- Experience with high-complexity product categories such as Baby Food, Pet Food, Household Cleaners, and more.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Experience with natural and organic foods preferred.
- Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) or other quality and product safety auditing systems experience preferred.
- Experience using specification databases and/or product lifecycle management systems preferred.
