Whole Foods Market is the world’s leading retailer of natural/organic foods with more than 500 stores in the U.S.A, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Whole Foods is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, multi-channel, cross-functional initiatives.
In this role, you'll partner with Global eCommerce Program teams to lead the scoping, planning and execution of enterprise projects that support high profile and high impact business initiatives. To be successful in this role, the candidate will be able to integrate and manage multiple large-scale programs, build interdependent schedules, identify and communicate key milestones, and deliver end-to-end project solutions to support the business. The candidate will identify and implement win-win process and tool solutions and raise the bar on deliverables for programs that extend from online and in-store pilots to large scale operational changes.
This position requires advanced project management skills, strategic thinking, relationship building, problem solving, and effective communication skills with peers and leadership. A track record of proactive change management, along with the ability to operate independently and autonomously are key to the success of this role.
This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.
Responsibilities:
Leads the discovery, planning, project implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise level, cross-functional Programs in coordination with eCommerce Team Members and Leadership.
Establishes end-to-end project scope, timelines and milestones, oversees Partners and manages internal team activities, and leads holistic project health reporting, communications and close out.
Uses business needs and past project experience to create full- scale project plans and documentation, encompassing:
Project charters, inclusive of program scope, justification and objectives
Project plan, inclusive of project goals, timelines, resource allocation, deliverables, dependencies and budgets
Responsibility assignment matrix
Risk assessment, tracking and mitigation planning
Program status and health reporting
Change management and long-term support plans
Project retrospective reporting
Builds, develops and grows business relationships with stakeholders, leadership and expanded teams vital to program success.
Demonstrates advanced planning and stakeholder engagement skills to set and manage realistic program timelines.
Proactively identifies potential risks, barriers or roadblocks to programs, recommends mitigation scenarios and contingency plans, and manages change in a creative and logical manner across the organization.
Evaluates, recommends and implements continuous improvements to tools, mechanisms, teams and training to optimize our PMO ways-of-working.
Supports department goals, identifies synergies, and suggests process and communication improvements to help our cross-functional team work more efficiently.
Qualifications:
4-6 years of project management experience.
Proven success defining project scope, goals, deliverables, crafting RACI, and proactively creating net new documentation as needed by the department.
Experience with management and tracking tools such as Smartsheets, Workfront, Asana, Confluence and JIRA; Certs for PMP or CSM a bonus.
Strong leadership presence, self-motivated and proactive relationship builder across diverse stakeholder groups that drives consensus and clarity.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
Active listener that understands Team needs and creates win-win solutions.
