Senior Team Leader, Project Management
Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Team Leader to lead the successful delivery of complex multi-channel cross-functional Marketing programs for Amazon Fresh (AFS) grocery. This role will manage a team of Project Managers and a Creative Resource Manager that run all programs related to Amazon Fresh marketing campaigns. This role is a key connection point across Amazon Fresh stakeholders, Brand Creative, Channel, Third Party Partners, and Tech teams, allowing for efficient planning and execution of creative projects supporting high-profile and high-impact business initiatives. This position will need to identify and create efficiencies in process, simplify tools and workflows, streamline channels of communication, as well as project manage projects for the team. All while helping the team to prioritize programs and deliverables in a complex and ever-changing retail environment, with experience in understanding go-to-market strategy to inform decision-making and ensure successful execution of initiatives. This role requires excellent project management skills, strategic thinking, relationship building, problem solving, and effective communication skills with peers and leadership. A track record of on-time delivery of projects coupled with the ability to operate proactively and autonomously are key to the success of this role.This position is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Austin Store Support office five days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Key leader, liaison, and escalation point across WFM and AFS Creative/Brand and Marketing teams (inclusive of Program Managers, Project Managers, Creatives, Production, and Print Production)
- Evaluate AFS requests, forecast, prioritize, and plan capacity based on our WFM AFS team and Shared Studio services
- Organize and drive resources (capital, staff, tools) to achieve project objectives on time, within scope, and on budget
- Identify challenge statements, recommend mitigation plans, document mechanisms, and manage change & implementation across teams to save time and earn trust with Creative, Shared Studio, Leadership, and AFS Partners
- Provide recommendations (as needed) on solutions when time/speed is priority to AFS partners and WFM leaders
- Identify escalation trends across portfolios and conduct retros/post-delivery evaluations with shared solutions
- Enable the WFM Fresh team to work more effectively by skillfully removing obstacles and distractions that may impede the team from meeting key goals
- Key contributor to WFM Fresh Documentation initiatives, operational plans (OP), and leadership presentations
- Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports across Project Management and Creative Resource Management
- Proactively identify potential risks, barriers, or roadblocks to Marketing programs; devise problem analysis; recommend contingency plans; and implement changes in a creative and logical manner
- Effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one situations and group meetings. Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.
- Identify potential risks, provide solutions for improvements, and implement process and communication synergies to help our cross-functional teams work more efficiently
- Proactively evaluate tools, mechanisms, teams, and training to optimize workflow
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, communications, or a related field
- 6-8+ years of experience as a program or project manager in a creative agency or similar experience
- Experience leading others and working closely with leadership across departments
- Proven success leading end-to-end creative projects
- Ability to define project scope, goals, and deliverables and establish RACI for role clarity
- Experience in digital, physical retail, and creative and content production timelines and process
- Strong leadership presence and proactive relationship builder with diverse stakeholder groups
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a keen sense of urgency and follow-through
- Passion for exceptional execution within an ever-changing environment
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to be solution-oriented in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment; comfortable with ruthless prioritization
- Proven ability to execute results with lean resources, balancing hands-on execution with strategic planning
