At Whole Foods Market, we’re on the lookout for a Sensory Analyst to elevate our Exclusive Brand (Private Label) products. You’ll play a key role in shaping our product line by conducting sensory panels that help drive decisions in product development, quality assurance, and marketing. No two days are the same-every day brings new products, fresh insights, and impactful analysis that fuels our team.This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead and Conduct Sensory Panels - Lead Descriptive panels, organize and oversee employee acceptance panels to provide actionable insights for our products. 

  • Analyze & Report Findings - Perform basic statistical analysis and translate sensory results into recommendations for stakeholders. 

  • Prepare & Manage Panels - From scheduling and tracking attendance to product prep, you’ll ensure everything runs smoothly. 

  • Develop & Innovate - Collaborate on panel training, maintain up-to-date product lexicons, and help recruit and train panelists to keep our team sharp. 

  • Deliver Insights - Provide essential feedback that informs product development and brand strategy decisions. 

Who You Are: 

  • A Sensory Specialist - BS in Food Science, Sensory Science, Psychology, or related field and 2+ years in sensory analysis with knowledge of sensory science as it relates to consumer-packaged goods products. Bonus if you have Descriptive analysis experience, panel leadership, and/or consumer research experience. 

 

  • Detail-Oriented & Organized - Your attention to detail means accurate data and meaningful insights every time. 

  • A Skilled Communicator - Comfortable leading groups and building consensus, you’re at ease presenting and discussing findings. 

  • Tech-Savvy - You’re familiar with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, plus a bonus if you’ve used XLStat, SurveyMonkey, Compusense, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, or similar tools. 

  • A True Foodie - Whether you’ve got a love for culinary arts or an eye for product innovation, a passion for food is in your DNA!
